Knox Road Bowls

Firewood or Bowl?
When not busy in the woods making maple sirup, or in the workshop making stained glass and furniture, Cliff can be found at his lathe turning bowls. Since beginning turning wood, whenever he picks up a piece of wood, Cliff inspects it with an artists eye. Will this log be used for firewood or will it become a bowl? 

Each bowl is a unique handcrafted work, sourced from local hardwood that has fallen due to storms. These trees are reclaimed for firewood, lumber and bowls. Cliff makes decorative, natural-edged bowls as well as functional fruit and salad bowls. 

All bowls are food safe. This bowl has been conditioned with food grade mineral oil. For best results, hand wash and towel dry. Never soak a wooden bowl. Do not put in oven, microwave or dishwasher. If your bowl starts looking dry, apply a fresh coat of mineral oil or food safe wood conditioner. Keeping a good finish on your bowl will make it easier to clean and will preserve it for years to come.

*Crystal Lake Soap Co. owner, Kristi, is the proud daughter of Cliff. Initially Cliff was asked to “permanently lend” several bowls for soap displays, but the bowls received more attention than the soaps so another natural partnership was formed and Knox Road Bowls was created.
